Unexpected Journey: Born With A Purpose – Juliana N. Chang

An idle, frustrated old coconut falls from the tree into the stream and travels through a rough journey.  Along the unexpected journey, it suffers injuries, but it encounters situations worse than its own.  Its destiny is unknown, but its destination continues where the river runs in its channel. The worst part of its life begins when it gets stuck in the mud. The river’s rough journey teaches it to endure hardship and appreciate being alive when it comes to rest involuntarily. It experiences physical development until its old self totally disappears. Then it becomes a coconut tree, a new creation.  This time its existence serves a greater purpose because it brings joy to the whole village.

Anyone could be that coconut, travelling through different stages of life’s journey, experiencing temporary setbacks, and discovering a purpose at the end of the unexpected journey.
